A brief description of our mission, To register as a charity, build and run an English language scool in Kupang, Indonesia. A full proposal is there for all to see. Please support us as we aim to raise 5000 pounds. Any donation large or small is greatly recieved. Our aim is to raise Money to enable us to build and succesfull run an outlet that can offer English language training by qualified TEFL techers. We would like to tell you a little more on how we came to this path. Firstly back in april 2005, i joined with VSO, voluntary services oversea and partook in a programme they were undertaking. It was based around cross cultural learning, sharing and gaining new ideas. This programme took place for 6 months, and i would thoroughly recommend any body who likes to give something, to take part in this organizations offerings. We firstly as a group of 9 uk volunteers where joined in London by 9 Overseas volunteers from Indonesia. This then made us a group of 18 volunteers plus 2 project supervisors. We started off in Kings lynn, Norfolk t assisting in schools, community groups and places of local interests. This we found to have a really positive reaction on all of us. We lived as counterpart pairs, one uk volunteer paired with one indonesia volunteer. There were times when it was difficult to spend 24 hours a day with our counterparts, but not one moment i regret. After spending three months in norfolk, We borded a plain to Kupang, Indonesia, met gleefully by our host homes. Again, in pairs, assisting in schools in the morning, the working in larger groups to try and implement nutritional gardens in places of interest of the community. The objective being to try and help the locals provide a sustainable future from their own hard work. I do honestly say that this changed my life, without volunteering who know's where i would be today! After VSO i decided i wanted more, it became more than just volunteering, it became a hobby, a love, a craving shall we say. So a few months later and im bording a plane back to Kupang, this time on my own with my backpack, visa and laptops I was genourously donated by scottish southern and electric, noteably, Mr Iain Marchant. With laptops in hand i had landed in Kupang, Ready to embark on my journey of life, all on my own in this "big wide world". Scary not half, but a feeling of contemptment, excitement and sheer fascination. Then for the next 7 months, I was teaching english to schools of, Juniors, infants, upper, college's and in refugee camps most noteably. The laptops where given to three schools of my decision based on needs. Basically all i can truthly say is that i had found my calling in life.... This was and always will be the making of me. I would so dearly love to act upon this project of mine. I am seriously seeking sponsorship/Donation to help me register as a charity.... If you are viewing this then i hope you can support me and share this dream. Many thanks for everything. Aaron Hamilton |
